About Us

Marty Lyon, is originally from Tyro, N.C. where he was raised on Southern Gospel music. Beginning in the 1960's his father, the late John Lyon, was the lead guitar player for the popular quartet The Carolinians. As a teenager, Marty himself joined the Carolinians as was the bass guitar player for the group for nearly ten years. It was at this early stage in his life that he developed his love for the business and the foundation of his deep knowledge of life as an entertainer.

Shortly after graduating from high school, Marty launched his own sound company and recording studio catering to local and regional artist in the area near his hometown of Lexington, NC. In 1994 he closed his studio and accepted the position of front house engineer and road manager for the acclaimed group The Fox Brothers.

Following his tenure with The Fox Brothers, Lyon accepted a position working with legendary promoter and talent agent, the late Cecil D. “Sonny” Simmons at the Century II Promotions and Talent Agency, Inc.  Marty credits his vast knowledge of the inner workings of the entertainment industry to his former boss and mentor. “Sonny taught me just about all I know about the music industry. I will always be grateful for his guidance and for the influence he had on my life”, said Lyon.

An old road warrior himself, Marty Lyon knows what it means to work the road and clearly understands the rigorous demands artists must endure in order to meet their performance obligations. That makes him an “Artist’s Agent”
